WHO IS A DIVINER?

While there may be varying definitions of what makes a Diviner, here is one for us.

A diviner is a person who works with a divinatory craft, like astrology, tarot, palmistry, or any number of global or folk traditions.

Divination can be about the future or predicting what will happen, but divination is so much more expansive than that. For us — divination extends to deciphering the subconscious/unconscious and the soul, and sourcing wisdom on the meaningful, initiatory situations we find ourselves in. A diviner allows their whole life to be in conversation with meaning and cosmos - and develops the spiritual and psychological maturity to be able to do so.

INSIDE OF DIVINER WE WILL…

  • Heighten our astrological acumen and our mythic and archetypal intelligence.

  • Nurture the psychological maturation required to be clear seers.

  • Discover the art of being and becoming and oracle.

Because CREATION is a major way to learn — participants will be supported in developing an astrological project (a creation, research, or some body of work) to share with the class at the end of our year together. These projects can be creative, personal, academic, or business-related in nature. The scope of the project is entirely personal - you can design your own initiation. Participants will be supported in generating the concept and supported along the way of birthing it.

Our Curriculum for the Next Twelve Months

Tracking Personal and Collective Astrological Transits

Students newer to tracking personal transits will learn the foundational skills of how to do so. Advanced students who already have this skillset will be supported in visiting this material more deeply and lucidly. We will ground our studies in exactly what transits each student is having during the duration of the class - that being our curriculum directly from the cosmos. We are left to divine not just what these transits mean but how to meet the occasion. Transits can include basic planetary transits, profection year & timelord techniques, and secondary progressions.


Astrological Houses and Planetary Lords of Houses

We will expand the coverage of the houses beyond what we had in the Evolutionary Astrology Intensive. Students will have access to a library of workshops about the 12 houses crafted by Aliza Rood and I. We will utilize these recordings for further explorations together in class. Students will learn how to craft more nuanced and precise archetypal predictions of transits by incorporating the house topics, as well as considering that transited planets in the natal chart are anchored back to 1 or 2 houses. (For example, if you are receiving a Pluto transit to your Venus, it’s not just about where Venus is by sign and house but also which houses in your chart are ruled by Taurus and Libra.)


The I Ching

Students will be supported in incorporating the I Ching in their practice if they have not already (through I Ching, the Oracle, a guidebook and translation by Benebell Wen). The I Ching is an ancient Chinese oracle that is uncannily accurate, supportive, wise.


Ritualizing Lunations

An important part of our practice together will be learning how to develop personal rituals with the new and full moons.

For many years as an astrologer, I did not ritualize new moons or “manifest” anything with them. I usually took the approach of just flowing with what was arising (which had its own wisdom). But since discovering basic candle magic, I found that astrological acumen combined with candle magic produces compelling results and experiences. I went on to manifest some deeply supportive and life-changing things with this practice.

It is the unique opportunity of the adept astrologer to craft a new moon magical working that is actually grounded in not just the astrology of the moon itself, but what it is activating in your natal chart. Manifestation is also a process that invites a development of spiritual maturity and deeper self-honesty, because what our ego things we want is not always what we really desire at a deeper level. Students will be encouraged to be grounded, wise, soulful, expansive, in their wish-making, and learn how to “garden” effectively with the moon and cosmos (garden meaning, grow fortune in your life).


Psychological Maturation and Development

Our perceptions and projections of our lives, ourselves, and others, are full of unconscious material! Whether it is from our childhoods, our preverbal days, or past lives, we are not objectively clear filters by any means. It is very easy to remain stuck in psychological defenses or stay stunted/underdeveloped in certain ways. We already established a depth astrology with the Evolutionary Astrology Intensive, but the path of how that material expresses in our lives is ongoing. Through teachings and texts (most of these texts not astrological in of themselves), we will endeavor to approach this craft with a deeper respect that includes our own deeper willingness to change and grow.

Individual Projects

Students will create their own project or body of work during our year together. There are certain things we will learn best through being in the very process of creativity. Students will be supported in designing the concept and scope of the project & creatively supported along the way of producing it.

  • New teachings will be delivered through videos or audios to watch/listen at your own time before class. We will also have a short book list.

  • Live calls are for workshop and salon style discussion

  • At times, new teachings will be taught live.

That means that what brings you here is the joy of learning itself, and what I am serving in you is a deeper learning journey that connects you more deeply with your soul and cosmos. I promise to only give you assignments that serve your learning. It’s not just about passively taking in information - any assignment I give you are designed for you to have an experience.

  • I am committed to the shared hearth of our class space, keeping the class material and vibe alive. Part of how I do this is outside of having a loose structure for the arc of the class, letting there be space for spontaneous teachings or themes to come through.

WHAT IS UNIQUE ABOUT ME
AS A TEACHER?

I have been in a devoted Evolutionary Astrology practice for more than ten years now alongside everything else I do and have learned. Essentially, I have a cosmological understanding that my spiritual growth is happening through my exact life experiences (as opposed to my spirituality happening in a compartmentalized way or something separate from my everyday life). This has created an intense intimacy with my life and personal development, as I constantly heed my soul’s call and work my way through the riddles and labyrinths of my life’s curriculum.

As a teacher, I am committed to reflecting my students at a deeper level and creating spaces where people can find this similar intimacy with their own experiences and lives. I teach in an intimate way and I create vibrant spaces. My channel and transmission is distinct and draws in highly intelligent and depth-oriented people who also tend to connect well with one another in class and often form friendships that outlive their time in class.

My classrooms have an abundance of good spirit, if you will, that holds the energy together but also gives us a lot of trust and resource to travel into challenging or provocative subject matter. In the same way my spiritual life calls me into constant connection with my incarnation and material life, and I learn to accept and work with and discover what I have been given — my classrooms are similarly resourceful in being with what is in the room.

WHAT IS THE UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY IN THESE ADVANCED STUDIES? IN THIS CONTAINER?

Many astrological programs (including my intensive which is the prerequisite for this class) are about learning the language. Then you might have level 2 or 3 programs that are about technique and practice with live charts or something of that nature.

When I teach advanced programs, I work in the spirit that because we are already initiated into the language and practice, one focused teaching can have a huge effect, like an accupuncture needle lighting up a whole meridian. The deeper we are into practice, the more sensitive our instrument is. So rather than focusing on just giving you more information, I work with concepts we can open and savor together, and play inside of. While still creating rigor (for you to grow in your practice), I make it really enjoyable.

In class, I am most interested in these needle points (like with the accupuncture needle) that create room for soul-making, peak experiences in learning, and awe and discovery. I focus on applying astrology rather than just teaching astrology in a dry way. We make connections here, to our lived experiences and to other disciplines. My programs are extremely unique in their interdisciplinary, experiential quality.

We will be working with astrological transits, tracking personal transits, and ways to interpret that information

I will be teaching you about gardening fortune with the moon — creating new moon intentions and rituals that amplify the potential of that transit as it pertains to your nativity.

I will be supporting you in developing a relationship with weaving realms - your sleeping (dreams) and waking worlds, and how this also connects with divination. Techniques in inducing more lucidity in your life.

WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT HOW I TEACH TECHNIQUE?

I do not just focus on technique in a dry way… I guess you can say my teachings tend to be wetter and juicier :)

But I also really care about relationship with technique and with the practice, which is why there is also an emphasis in this program about wisdom and psychological and spiritual maturation. I care that technique serves the deeper thing - the soul journey, a deeper richer inner life, awakening. This is the context we repeatedly ground everything in.
